Welcome to Domaine le Bostonnais — a log cabin village nestled on a natural peninsula along the Bostonnais River, 15 minutes from La Tuque, in the heart of one of Quebec's largest natural territories.
Here, the boreal forest is ever-present, the silence is absolute and every stay is a unique experience. No key lockbox here — we are on site to welcome you in person, because for us, the welcome is the beginning of your adventure.
21 years ago, we fell in love with this old woodworking shop along the Bostonnais River. We turned it into an authentic retreat where each chalet bears the name of a craftsman of old and tells its own story.
If you dream of a stay in a log cabin chalet in Quebec, a nature getaway in Mauricie or a real cabin in Canada — you are in the right place.
Why Domaine le Bostonnais?
The Domaine spans nearly 10 hectares of preserved nature, on a peninsula bordered by the Bostonnais River — a river named in the 19th century by English hunters who came straight from Boston. A wild territory where deer, beavers, foxes and, for the lucky ones, moose and black bears can sometimes be spotted along the trail.
At the heart of the garden, two wooden swing benches face each other around a stone fireplace dug into the ground. In the evening, this is naturally where everyone gathers, eyes fixed on the flames, putting the world to rights after a day in nature. This is where time truly slows down.
Our five chalets
Each of our five log cabins is individual, independent, and carefully decorated in an authentic yet comfortable style. They each bear the name of a craftsman of old — as a tribute to the history of this place and those who shaped it.
From the romantic chalet for two to the family chalet with a river view, every space has been designed so you feel at home from the very first minute. The Observatoire truly lives up to its name — perched on the heights, it reveals a wild panorama of wooded hills and a small lake nestled in the forest.
Whatever your chalet, you will find peace, comfort and that warm wooden atmosphere that makes the Domaine so charming.
