Nature playground — boreal forest, river, starry sky.
What to do at the Domaine?
The hiking trail winds through the Domaine between forest and river — in sneakers in summer, snowshoes in winter. Keep your eyes open: deer, beavers, foxes and, if you're lucky, moose and black bears sometimes appear around a bend.
The Bostonnais River runs alongside the Domaine for its entire length — calm, accessible to all, it invites swimming in summer and kayaking or paddleboarding along the water.
For children, a playhouse with toys, building blocks and balls awaits them. In the evening, gather around the stone outdoor fireplace, sitting on the swings, eyes fixed on the flames. This is where the most beautiful evenings happen.
Kayaking on the Bostonnais River
The Bostonnais River is an invitation to explore. Calm, level 0, it is perfect for a few hours or a half-day trip. You will glide silently through the boreal forest — and around a bend, you may encounter a deer, moose, beaver, loon or great blue heron.

Seaplane flight — Aviation La Tuque
An unforgettable experience. The aircraft of Aviation La Tuque are glazed on all sides for a breathtaking view of the Canadian boreal forest — lakes, rivers, beaver dams and vast open spaces typical of Quebec at the gateway to the North.
Petite Rivière Bostonnais Waterfall Park
At the southern entrance of La Tuque, this completely free park blends nature, culture and history for all ages. A spectacular 35-metre waterfall, hiking trails, an observation tower, playgrounds and several interpretation centres including a fur trading post with 50 taxidermied animals.
Cycling & fat bike — 33 km cycling trail
The 33 km cycling trail crosses the boreal forest, runs along the Saint-Maurice River and the Petite Rivière Bostonnais — accessible to all levels, with several stops for a picnic or a well-deserved break.
For the more athletic, 80 km of mountain bike trails marked by Mauricycle are accessible near downtown La Tuque.
In winter, this same trail becomes a fat bike paradise on groomed snowy trails. Rentals available in La Tuque at Atelier Roule Vélo.
Aviation exhibition — La Tuque Airport
At La Tuque Airport, dive into the history of regional aviation with virtual reality headsets that will take you soaring over the boreal forest, interpretation panels and video capsules featuring the pioneers of aviation in La Tuque.
